REGINALD BENYARD

Mr. Benyard is an educator in the Dual Enrollment Early College Program at Lee High School. More importantly, Mr. Benyard is changing young Black narratives. On top of trying to make African American History a required course in high school, he is also responsible for establishing Sankofa, a club which highlights the rich history of African and African-influenced cultures at his home high school. In fact, Just B.E. was inspired by that very Sankofa Club. Nonetheless, per student testimonials, "Mr. Benyard really just wants to see us [Black students] win and that's what we admire and love about him."
