Literacy Interpretation Training

Gettin’ L.I.T. is the tutoring, mentoring and academic resource you always wanted, but couldn’t find. It’s informal, educational, and free. Some posts will focus on writing. Some will focus on reading. Some will focus on self-care and mental health. However, all will stay true to the culture. l’ll even have posts from featured teens from schools around the city. This will be built by us for us. And as always, you can and should be involved. If there’s a topic you want to know more, talk or even write about, contact me and we'll make it happen.

For the very first blog post, I picked a special topic, essays! I've had so many requests for help and the ones I’ve read before my help have been a mess. And that's ok. However, after we’ve worked on them together, many of those same essays have gone on to earn over $30,000 in scholarships, lead to interviews for prestigious organizations and even helped students earn admission into a college where they were previously denied. So, Gettin’ L.I.T. works! Plus, that D you got in English or C in reading just ain’t it fam.
